About Whisky Essence
Whisky Essence is the first Czech independent whisky bottler, run by Jirka Šinogle. We focus on whisky from lesser-known distilleries or interesting casks and bottle them at cask strength, without cold filtration or colouring.
Buying my first barrel in 2020 was a completely spontaneous decision during the lockdown, when people were inventing different things. I wanted to buy a barrel with other friends and then share the bottles. My friends eventually changed their minds, as is often the case, and I ended up buying the barrel for myself and forgot about it for a while.
For a long time, I missed a podcast about whiskey in the Czech Republic with personalities from the Czech whiskey world, so in the spring of 2021, I decided to make such a podcast myself. I called it Whisky Essence. Apparently, thanks to Covid, the podcast was a great success and is still very popular today.
In 2022, I remembered the barrel and thought that 2 years of finishing might be enough, and I decided to share the barrel with podcast fans, and thus, the first filling of an independent whiskey bottling under the Whisky Essence brand was created. Our Philosophy
Whisky is a great hobby for me. I love Scotland, whisky and everything about it. Whisky should be fun above all. That's why we want to have fun above all.
Look
Every bottle is unique, and there is a story behind every label. We try to put clues into our labels that can tell you which distillery it is. Our fans love to participate in guessing the distillery based on the label. We work with a top artist. A video is created for each bottle that explains the individual riddles on the label.
Transparency
We love information and that's why we try to be as informative as possible. Each bottle contains complete information about the whisky inside.
Accessibility
We believe that whisky should be drunk and shared with friends. That's why we strive to make it possible for people to taste our whisky in the best bars in the Czech Republic and also to sample it from samples on DramRoom.cz.
